Ripple: Introduction

Friends of Friends is excited to announce Ripple. Each issue begins with a single artist or musician. We sit with them, document their world, and ask a simple question: what is inspiring you right now? We’re interested in what they are actually consuming, returning to, and moving through in their day to day life, not just what they are known for publicly.

From there, they give us three recommendations. It could be a local band, visual artist, a photographer, a place they return to, a meal, a drink, a book, anything that feels present in their world at the moment. These are not curated answers, but real references that sit inside their creative ecosystem.

We follow those ripples. We go to those places, meet those people, and continue the conversation. Each new subject offers three more recommendations, expanding the network outward each time. What begins as one conversation becomes a chain reaction of introductions, moving us deeper into connected scenes and relationships.

Over time, each issue becomes an evolving, never ending chain of creative influence. A living map of inspiration that moves through cities, scenes, and communities, guided entirely by the artists themselves. It is less about documenting finished work, and more about tracking the conditions of environments that shape it.

Ripple is about proximity, discovery, and the quiet ways creativity travels between people. It is about what inspires those that inspire us. It traces influence in real time, through direct connection between artists, places, and scenes, building a record of how creative worlds actually form and overlap.

We distribute it both online and in print. Online, it moves the same way the project does, through people, between artists, and outward as each issue connects to the next. In print, it exists in small runs and lives inside the same spaces the work comes from, record stores, venues, cafes, studios, and directly into the hands of the people featured and connected through it.

Friends of Friends.
